  • The last few months have just been hard. I mean they could be a lot worse, so I’m not looking for sympathy. But between packing a house, packing a shop, moving in with my mother in law, moving all the pets with us, building a new home and trying to keep up with my sanity, I’ve just really been ready for “normal” again. Today felt a little more normal working on the house, though because I’m back to building....cabinets! I’ve missed my shop so bad the last few months and being back at it felt soooooo good. You can take the girl out of the shop, but you can’t take the shop out of the girl...if that makes any sense 😂 also FYI, these new @kregjig #trackhorses have become my new favorite tool. Without my old workbenches, tool carts, and with moving from place to place to work, these have been life saving. 🙌🏻💙 plus they come with track clamps! Then when I’m done...or have to get back to hanging Sheetrock, they fold up and can be stored out of the way. Yaaaas 👍 anyway, also a quick house update. We still don’t have power and it’s like 756 degrees in here. Don’t ever build your own house in the summer unless you have AC.   • Dressers turned vanities are so in right now. But when one or more drawers are rendered useless because of sinks and plumbing, is that really practical? 🤷‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ I mean, you’ve gotta have somewhere to store your TP and bath towels right? No worries.   • House tour! All 850 sq ft of basically open space 😂😂 I got all the drywall hung and finished this weekend and started priming, but ran out of daylight (we still don’t have power 🙄). We are going to try something different for the ceiling in here so it’s not up yet. Stay tuned 😉 I’ve got a deadline to be done in three and a half weeks. I’m starting to freak out a little 😬 send prayers and chill pills 🙏🏻 oh and dust masks 😷 #housetour #garageapartment #tinyhome #diy #housebuilding

  • The last few months have just been hard. I mean they could be a lot worse, so I’m not looking for sympathy.   • It’s been a labor of love (and also hate 😅) but as of tonight, all of our Sheetrock is hung 🙌🏻 I’ll start the finishing process tomorrow. Pretty sure it’ll look awful, but my sister says if I hang enough stuff on the wall, no one will notice 😉😂 good news is because it’s such a small space, almost every will will covered with built in cabinets for storage so there’s that 👍 give me your tips on cleaning up sanding dust and prepping fresh drywall for paint! Keep in mind we have no power or water yet, soooooo.... 😬🤷‍♀️🏡 #makinghome #buildingourownhome #garageapartment
  • Insulation ✔️ I have no idea what I’m doing but I know it’s itchy. So guess it’s working? 🤷‍♀️😂😂 now, drywall is going up (is actually 2/3 up already but didn’t get a picture because we hung it in the dark 🙈) here’s hoping it looks halfway decent when I see it tomorrow in the daylight 😅 we are moving along 👍 we will no longer be homeless in just a few short weeks 🤞🏻 #garageapartment #homebuilders #diy
  • The sun shines bright on my old Kentucky home 🏡❤️ we are getting our electrical work inspected tomorrow so we can hopefully get power soon 🤞🏻 once that passes, we are buttoning up the rest of these walls with drywall and making ourselves a home :) I’ve never been so excited about drywall in my life 🙈😂 #homebuilding #garageapartment #kentucky #homebuilders #diy
  • These pictures were taken exactly one week apart. First picture was last Saturday and the others were today. In one week since getting a roof, we’ve wired the entire building, hung all the light and outlet boxes, built the divider and bathroom walls, insulated and dry walled the bathroom and gotten the rough plumbing done. Danny has busted his butt getting the power meter boxes and ground rods installed and I’ve busted my butt running wires, building walls, and starting drywall. It may not look like much, but there’s a lot of blood and sweat in here. No tears yet...but definitely a whole lot of sweat 😂😂🙈 hopefully the next week will get us to looking like a real house (apartment) with drywall and the start of a ceiling. 🤞🏻 #garagehouse #garageapartment #buildinghome #diy
