  • Who else is going to @workbenchconference this week?? I’m starting to pack and get myself pumped up, but to be honest, I’m a little afraid of getting there and feeling a little intimidated by all the makers there who I’ve followed for years and are WAY more advanced than my little pea brain could ever dream to be. Anyone else, or am I the only one a little nervous? 🙋🏼‍♀️🙈 I know, it’s weird 🤷‍♀️ anyway, because I have social anxiety and I’m extremely awkward, give me your tips on meeting new people and breaking the ice so I don’t make TOO big of a fool of myself when I show up 😅 you guys got any corny jokes I can throw out there?? Also, because it’s Instagram, here’s a picture of my favorite recent project I made with @purebond rough sawn plywood. Plans are on the blog and so is an awkward video tutorial.   • I forgot to share with you guys that I posted a super easy and quick post on the blog yesterday showing you how to make a raised garden bed. It’s like, the easiest project in the world. So if you’re looking for a quick, beginner level project to get you out of your winter blues and ready for spring, this is it 👍🔨 #linkinprofile #gardenbed #springplanting #diy
  • Playing along with the @workbenchconference photo prompt today and sharing my favorite tool(s). The (s) is there for obvious reasons...you can’t ever pick a favorite tool 😅 but I have to share the one that was an absolute lifesaver when building our house this past fall. These @kregjig track horses helped me build my kitchen cabinets, cut my backsplash tile, build my kitchen table and even hold all of Dannys snacks while I (oh, I mean WE 😂) worked. I joke, he worked, too. I just wanted to add the picture of him just chillin in his chair for kicks and giggles. 😂 anyway, I use these daily even now that we are done building the house and I highly recommend getting a pair. They fold up easy for storage (see there at the end of my workbench?) and unfold just as easily for cutting down plywood, using as a work surface, or whatever.   • Not to brag, but we built a house together and didn’t kill each other...and he still thinks I’m attractive after I spent a couple months sweating profusely building it...so I think we are doing pretty good as a couple 🤷‍♀️😂 also, couples who work together fight together and, at the end of the day, togetherness is what counts, right? 😅 happy Valentine’s Day you guys! 💕 give that special someone an extra hug today! #coupleswhobuildtogether #buildingahome #valentinesday
  • I just need to get this off my chest for a sec. YouTube can sometimes be the WORST. Like one minute, you’re pumped, you’re growing, you’re making good content, people like you. Then BAM, people who don’t have a single video posted on their channel jump all over you because your volume was too soft or your music wasn’t their taste. 🙄 like why?! WHY?! Why do people do that? Why can’t we all be nice? Why can’t you just keep scrolling if you aren’t into someones video? It baffles me. You know how much work went into that project and that video? Behind the scenes is tough. Sometimes you’re sweaty, sometimes your dusty, sometimes you hurt, sometimes it’s discouragement after discouragement, sometimes you’re sitting in a pile of sawdust crying because nothing is working out like you’d hoped (what? Just me? 🙋🏼‍♀️). Encourage one another. Don’t be a troll. Life is too short to be a butthole. Really. End of my rant.
